Public Art plays a big role in our daily lives. Artists who specialize in public art projects are a special breed. Public Art can be large and influence the emotions of passersby.
Here's an interesting opportunity we just found out about...you only have a few days to apply, but the project is worthwhile.
The Maryland State Arts Council is accepting applications for the Maryland National Guard Easton Readiness Center public art project.
The project is open to professional artists or artist teams residing in Maryland.
Here's a description of the project:
The permanent public artwork will be two-dimensional and will convey the themes of the Maryland National Guard. The artwork will be original and site-specific to the Easton Readiness Center site.
Of course you need to know about the money:
The artwork budget: $74,120 and the concept proposal fee is $860. The Artist Selection Committee will select up to three artists or artist teams to develop concept proposals for the artwork.
Artists can apply online at www.CallforEntry.org. Deadline: Monday, March 27, 2017, Midnight.
